New Year in Scotland, January 2024. We drove up from Oxford and stayed in a house near Newburgh overlooking the Firth of Tay. We started with a walk along the water, then spent a day in Edinburgh: the Christmas market and the big wheel, the Scott Monument, a piper on the Royal Mile, and the castle with its views over the city. Next came the long drive up to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, and back to Newburgh under the stars. Before heading home we had a frosty sunrise and a visit to the Lindores Abbey Distillery.
